Gerald Wolf, Proud Owner and Top Sales Man

Gerald (Jerry) Wolf arrived in Alaska on July 4th 1947 with his parents to help out his Uncle Ray Wolfe at Wolf's Hardware and Department Store in downtown Anchorage. He graduated from Anchorage High School in 1947 and attended Iowa University to study Business. Jerry was soon drafted into the Navy for the Korean War.
After many years of serving Jerry moved back up to Anchorage in January of 1955 with his family. Once in Anchorage he started working again for the family business. In just 10 years, Jerry was promoted to manager. By 1970 he bought out his uncle and became the official owner of Wolf's. Now as the owner Jerry had the company prioritize the sale of home furnishings.

In an attempt to partially retire, Jerry moved Wolf's to a smaller location and specialized in major home appliances. Wolf's became exclusively Maytag in 1994.

Since 2012 Wolf's has focused on commercial appliances and parts to meet the needs of Alaska's ever changing economy.

Jerry celebrated the company's 100 years of business in 2015. He continues to sell Wolf's appliances 5 days a week.
